HOW TO MAKE YOGHURT SO FAST

Unknown

yoghurt is one of the most nutritious foods . it caontains all the great minerals that can help one live a good a life.

among the importances of yoghurt is the pressence of probiotic bacteria  that help improve on digestion.
some of the importances of yoghurt include, improving digestion, protects against osteoporosis, benefits heart health, improves bone health, promotes weight management,

HOWEVER , YOGHURT MAY NOT BE FOR EVERYONE,

This is because of what we call, Lactose Intolerance.
Quickly, lets look at how yoghurt is made.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. milk
  2.  A double jacket saucepan
  3.  sugar (optional)
  4. Flavors (include straw berry, vanilla, mango, pineapple etc.)
  5.  Stabilizers
  6. Culture/mother culture/another already formed yoghurt.
  7.  stirrer
  8.  Source of heat
  9.  Thermometer (food grade)
  10.  Packaging materials (these may be poaches or bottles or tetra packs)

PROCEDURES

  1.  Test the milk for its quality. (you can use plat form tests , simple lab tests and any that may be easyfor you.)
  2.  Sieve/strain it into the inner saucepan
  3.  Heat up to 60oc to 70oc
  4. Add sugar and stabilizer’s at this temperature while stirring
  5.  Heat further up to 80oc and pasteurize/hold the temperature for 30 minutes or at 85oc for 15minutes
  6.  Cool the milk-sugar-stabilizer mixture up to 45oc
  7.  Add culture to it or mother culture / already formed yoghurt.
  8. Cover the cultured milk (leave a breathing space) and incubate for 5 hours at 45oc or for 12 hours atroom temperature
  9. After the incubation time…… you have your yoghurt……..but one more step to go
  10.  Remove the cream layer on the top (breaking the yoghurt).
  11.  Add your favorite flavor and stir properly
  12.  You can preservatives (potassium sobate and natamycine are common) if you wish or not
  13.  Pack and keep at 4oc for 3 weeks

KEY NOTES
in adition to the keynotes aside, ensure proper hygiene throught the process, otherwise, yoghurt may fail to make or it may make but get spoilt so fast

ZERO GRAZING STRUCTURES (STANDARD)

Unknown

CATTLE HOUSING

For any dairy farmer who wants to achieve a maximum out of his animal in milk production, the comfort ability of the animal should be considered.
comfortability of the animals can be divided into two;
  1. Feed comfort ability
  2. Resting comfort ability

However much you want your animal to produce a great amount of milk by feeding it well on concentrated and good feeds, and yet you neglect its ability to comfort, you will automatically get a fail
from this , we can come up with formula

Animal production = feeding + good health +comfort ability

Less of any above will cause a loss or a fail

In order to ensure comfort ability, a checklist should include the following,
1. feeding alley.
This should be clean enough and attracting to the a animal to come and feed.
many farmers give their animals feeds from dirty and unpleasant troughs , however like an individual, we all love eating from a clean and an appetizing plate so should we do the same for the animals

Dairy structure housing (Zero grazing Unit)

Unknown
Animals like humans need a good accomodation facility. in this case, animals will not need a good lodge with a plasma or a an air conditioner , but it will require a comfortable sleeping environment.

Cattl especially for milk production has been kept on a zero grazing unit now for a  number of years,
this is because of the many advantages of zero grazing compared to free range or any other method of keeping animals .

Above is a simple Zero Grazing 3d plan that is sited on a 9m x7.5m .
there are many consideration and precautions considered in construction of the zero grazing unit, for which are clearly indicated in the photo above.
However, i cant skip talikng abouut

  1. The slanting of the unit floor which is about 3% towards the trench.
  2. The crush not to be forgoten ,as many farmers forget it , yet they lack the milking parlour too.
  3. Ensuring that animals feed troughs are big enough especially for water
  4. The floor should not be slipery.
  5. Proper stall size (the lay out design has the standard dimmensions)
you can download a full pdf here

What happens when a zero grazing unit is poorly constructed?

  1. Animals are not comfortable so they will not produce as required.
  2. Animals diseases may rise up due to the poor design
  3. cleaning of the facility becomes hard.
  4. The structure can easily be spoilt by the animals
  5. spoilage of the feeds and hence a loss to the farmer.
Therefore , ensure a good structure design to avoid loses
